AEI has worked with road and bridge Contractors in Michigan to develop Value Engineering changes to the bid plans for maintaining traffic and to develop alternate technical concepts (ATC) for maintaining traffic during the bid phase.
I-75 over Port of Monroe Railroad, Front Street, the Raisin River and Elm Avenue in Monroe County, Michigan
AEI worked with the Contractor to prepare a Value Engineering (VE) request to change the plans for maintaining traffic on I-75 during work on the structures.- Owner: Michigan Department of Transportation

US-10 from US-127 to the Isabella / Midland County Line in Clare and Isabella Counties, Michigan
AEI worked with the Contractor to prepare alternate technical concept plans for maintaining traffic on the project, which help the Contractor secure the bid. The project included 8.22 miles of unbonded concrete overlay, shoulder reconstruction, bridge vertical underclearance upgrades, ramp reconstruction, box culvert replacement and drainage improvements.- Owner: Michigan Department of Transportation

I-75 from Cottage Grove Road to East Anderson Road in Bay County, Michigan
- During construction of this concrete overlay project on I-75, AE worked with the Contractor to prepare a Value Engineering (VE) request to change the maintaining traffic plans. As part of the VE, we designed a 2-mile temporary roadway in the median of I-75 for use by NB or SB I-75 traffic when that bound of I-75 was under construction.

M-59 from Crooks to Ryan, including 9 structures in Oakland County, Michigan
- During this reconstruction project on M-59, AE worked with the Contractor to prepare a Value Engineering (VE) request to change the maintaining traffic plans. As part of the change, we designed temporary median crossovers for mainline and ramp.
